Welcome to the
Llanfair Caereinion & District
Agriculture and Horticulture Show
This year’s Show was the 40th Show and was held on
Saturday 31st August 2013
The 40th Show proved to be one of the most successful ever, with increased entries in most sections and the weather was glorious. The entertainment proved extremely popular with the FMX Motorbikes performing amazing stunts in the main ring, and the Wye Valley Axe Team and Donkey Derby also entertained the public.
Mr Cadvan Evans the President for 2013 gave a brief history of the the Show from its start in the early years of the 20th century. It had a break for the 1st World War and then it stopped again in 1940 for the 2nd World War and the show did not resume after the war until a dormant bank account was investigated and following a Public meeting it was decided to hold a Llanfair Caereinion and District Show in 1973 on Mount Field. This proved extremely successful and was moved to Pentre field for the 1974 show, where it continued to expand until it again outgrew the site and the moved to Mathrafal in 1995. In 2010 the Show moved again to it's present site in the Banwy Valley and the show committee are extremely grateful to the Tudor Family at Llysun, who kindly make their fields available to the show.
The 2014 Show will be held on Saturday 30th August.
